Dr Chris Baryomunsi the Minister of information has claimed that they intentionally served beans to NUP MPs at the burial of the late speaker of Parliament Hon Jacob Oulanyah on Friday in Omoro.
This was during a talkshow hosted on NBS TV. Hon David Kalwanga the MP for Busujju County said that despite the huge budget allocated to the burial, they were still served beans.
“With that huge budget, at Oulanyah’s burial, they served us beans,” Hon David Kalwanga said.
Rogers Mulindwa the NRM spokesperson however said that even chicken was there.
“Chicken was also there.”
Tinkasimire however chimed in and said that “The beans were only served to NUP MPs.”
The burial was expected to be of creme de la creme nature full of pomp and flair after Parliament approved a budget of 2.5 billion shillings.
Preparations are already underway by the Electoral Commission to hold a by-election for Omoro County following the death of Hon Jacob Oulanyah.
His son has reportedly showed interest in stepping into his father’s shoes and the NRM is seemingly ready to support him all the way.
