Fik Fameica Tells Makerere Guild President to Leave His Stage During Freshers Ball Clash

KAMPALA — A disagreement between rapper Fik Fameica and Makerere University Guild President Gracious Kadondi disrupted a performance at the university’s Freshers Ball 2026 after the student leader walked onto the stage and attempted to address the crowd.

The incident happened on Saturday night at Impis Rugby Grounds, where Fik was performing before Kadondi arrived with members of her team and took the microphone.

Kadondi reportedly wanted to address the students, having missed an earlier opportunity to speak. However, the rapper appeared unwilling to interrupt his set and asked her group to leave the stage.

“Leave my stage! I have work to do,” Fik was heard saying in footage of the incident that has circulated on social media.

The disagreement continued for several minutes, with police officers and members of the singer’s team also appearing on stage. Some students could be heard chanting Fik Fameica’s name as the situation unfolded.

Kadondi and her team eventually walked off, allowing the rapper to continue entertaining the crowd.

The confrontation has attracted mixed reactions, particularly over the Guild President’s role at an event organised with the involvement of the university’s 92nd Students’ Guild.

While some social media users defended Fik’s decision to protect his performance time, others argued that Kadondi should have been given an opportunity to address students at an event associated with the guild.

There were also claims that the rapper had arrived late and that organisers were working against time to conclude the programme.

The free-entry event, held under the #MAKFreshersBall26 banner, featured performances from Fik Fameica, Azawi, Feffe Bussi, Winnie Nwagi and Mozelo Kidz, among others. Coca-Cola supported the event through its Essaawa Yonna Kisoboka campaign.

Kadondi was elected Makerere University’s 92nd Guild President in April 2026 on the National Unity Platform ticket, securing 6,801 votes against Hannah Karema. She is a third-year Bachelor of Optometry student at the university’s College of Health Sciences.

The university, guild leadership and event organisers had not publicly commented on the incident.
