Renowned movie Interpreter Mary Smarts Matovu commonly known as VJ Junior has expressed his interest in the lord mayoral spot for Kampala.
This surely would put him head to head with the current lord mayor Erias Lukwago as it doesn’t look possible that he will be relinquishing it come 2026.
Taking to his Twitter page, VJ Junior posted a photo of himself alongside NUP secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya.
He proceeded to caption it by saying that anyone who names a capable next lord mayor other than him would be purely lying.
Junior then appreciated Rubongoya for the wise words shared before expressing sadness on not meeting NUP leader Bobi Wine whom he referred to as the modern day Martin Luther King of Uganda.

It should be recalled that VJ Junior used to belong to the NRM during his councilorship days.
However, last year he lost to NUP’s Faisal Ssebayigga in the race for the lord councilorship of Mutungo area that includes Kitintale and Mutungo.
