Police have arrested an additional suspect in connection with the killing of professional rugby player Sydney Gongodyo, following an incident that occurred on June 5, 2026.
The suspect has been identified as Kabugo Henry, a 21-year-old boda boda rider and resident of Old Kira–Kisenyi.
According to police spokesperson ASP Rachael Kawala, preliminary investigations indicate that Kabugo Henry was captured in video footage of the incident wearing a blue reflector jacket and allegedly concealing his face with a black hood.
Police say the suspect was arrested in the Wandegeya area of Kampala during a joint operation involving officers and boda boda leadership from Nakawa Division.
