Buyaga west constituency MP Hon Barnabas Tinkasimire has revealed how elections are won in Uganda.
While appearing on NBS TV’s Frontline, Tinkasimire said that those at the helm of Uganda’s leadership clearly know that the population is not happy with them.
Therefore the only way they can win these elections is by brutalizing the voters thus intimidating them.
His comments came in after the seemingly peaceful election period that is ongoing in Kenya. According to Tinkasimire, what is happening in Kenya is the true definition of the political science he studied in school.
Tinkasimire also wondered why in Uganda the Electoral Commission has just a day to declare the winner of the election while in Kenya, there are 7 days reserved for the EC to declare the winners.
Former Kasese woman MP Hon Winnie Kiiza who was also on the same talk show complimented the Kenyans. She said that these learnt from their turbulent past and its the reason all the candidates were preaching for peace.
However, in Uganda the previous election is always more worrying than the previous one according to the former Leader ofOpposition.
Counting of votes in Kenya is still ongoing as there is a fierce competition between Raila Odinga and William Ruto who are in a very tight race.
The two have continued to exchange the lead although Ruto seems to have a slight advantage over Odinga
