The MP for Bukooli County Central Hon Solomon Silwany has come out to reveal how the National Unity Platform is suffering from the shock of a rude loss. This was in regards to the recent by-election in Omoro County.
As if to say that the NRM the party he belongs to has been ferrying voters in the past elections, Silwany said that no one ferried voters this time round. He also advised the Opposition to go back to the drawing board and rearrange themselves.
This was after his fellow panelist Kyadondo east legislator Hon Nkunyingi Muwadda said that the Omoro By-election was daylight robbery. NUP was the outright winner but NRM stole their victory according to Nkunyingi. According to Muwadda it was not the Electoral Commission in charge even.
However, Silwany said that there is no opposition in Omoro. He cited a case where he went chanting NUP but people just ignored him.
Muwadda however says that he didn’t see the locals of Omoro celebrating Andrew Ojok Oulanyah’s win apart from the people from Kampala meaning that they didn’t vote him.
Muwadda further talked about the injustices that happened in the election citing military and arrest of NUP agents.
Silwany however refuted this saying the election was peaceful. He added that even when Kyagulanyi came to campaign for Toolit, there was no chaos.
