I told Bobi Wine his MPs were using him- Munyagwa Mubarak

Hon Mubarak Munyagwa the former Kawempe South legislator has come out to claim how he warned NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine about how MPs in his party NUP were using him to secure Parliamentary slots.

Munyagwa says that these only wanted Bobi Wine because they wouldn’t spend a penny on musicians during their rallies.

“I told Bobi Wine that these MPs he trusts only wanted him because he is a musician. His appearance at their rallies helped them cut costs of paying musicians,” Munyagwa said during the NBS Eagle.

Further Munyagwa says that Bobi Wine is just overrated if he thought he could overwhelm the NRM alone. According to the comical MP, NUP should know that its influence only stops in Buganda and Jinja. Farther than that, they have no influence and as an opposition political party, it should be in touch with others.

This therefore should make them to communicate with others especially FDC in order not to antagonize each other. He cited the case of Omoro where NUP fielded Simon Toolit a former FDC member.

This confused the voters and gave the NRM and advantage to sweep the election. NRM’s Andrew Ojok Oulanyah the son of the late speaker Hon Jacob Oulanyah sweeped the election massively beating his closes candidate Toolit with over 13000 votes.

“Hon. Bobi Wine is overrated. Bobi Wine is famous in Buganda and Jinja. NUP has to know where it is strong, and it shouldn’t antagonise where FDC is strong.

NUP needs to communicate with FDC.
Toolit has won on the FDC ticket two times. This time around, he confused the voters and gave NRM an advantage.

Bobi Wine is overrated to think that he can overwhelm NRM,” Munyagwa added.

He also criticized the approach of NUP MPs to several factors in the country. He cited the skyrocketing prices of commodities yet the NUP Mps from Wakiso and Kampala who should be spearheading the protests against this are quite. This was never the style of FDC and therefore something needs to change
