Acholi subregion wants answers on why it’s leaders die young- Hon Odonga Otto

Ex MP Hon Odonga Otto has come out to say that Acholi subregion wants answers on why leaders from the region die at such tender ages.

The former Aruu County MP says that as much as death is natural, the rate at which leaders from Acholi who are so loyal to the government die is worrying.

The MP also named some prominent leaders who have died in the recent past all in their 50’s.

These included Gen Paul Lokech who died at 55, Col Ochora Walter at 54, Gen Oketa Julius at 60 and Hon Jacob Oulanyah who has been the Speaker of Parliament at just 56 years.

The FDC man says that death is interpreted in traditional terms in his region and not scientifically. They therefore as a region have to look into both ways and find a solution.

However, Oulanyah’s father Nathan Okori yesterday revealed that his son’s death was not a natural one and he had been poisoned. He added that his sickness became clear after he got elected to the Speakership role.

The Minister of information Dr Chris Baryomunsi however trashed the poisoning allegations and advised people to wait for a postmortem.
