KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Chairman of the Council for Abavandimwe, Mr. Frank Gashumba, has formally extended his congratulations to Hon. Juma Witonze Kisekka following his appointment as Uganda’s Minister of State for Internal Affairs.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Mr. Gashumba highlighted the significance of the national assignment and urged citizens to rally behind the newly appointed state minister.
”Ugandans should celebrate this well-deserved responsibility,” Gashumba stated, commending the appointing authority for selecting Hon. Witonze for the critical security and governance portfolio.
Gashumba further expressed optimism regarding Witonze’s tenure, wishing him “wisdom, strength, and success as he serves his nation,” while expressing confidence that this new chapter of leadership will deliver meaningful impact, institutional efficiency, and tangible socio-economic progress for the people of Uganda.
Hon. Juma Witonze Kisekka a diplomat, investment advisor, and coordinator within the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) was nominated by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and successfully approved by Parliament’s Appointments Committee. His appointment comes as part of a cabinet realignment aimed at strengthening key government ministries and enhancing public service accountability.
As State Minister for Internal Affairs, Hon. Witonze will work within a central docket responsible for internal security, public order, citizenship verification, and immigration management across the country.
