Mujib Kasule pulls out of FUFA presidential race

Mujib Kasule who is FUFA Big League side, Proline FC Director, who had expressed interest in contesting for the FUFA presidential seat has pulled out of the race, citing irregularities in the process.

Mujib Kasule who picked his nomination forms to contest for FUFA Presidential seat on Monday was expected to return his forms on Wednesday but instead called for a press conference to announce that he would not be returning the forms, which meant that he was pulling out of the race.

Kasule revealed that all the delegates who should give signatures to candidates gave their signatures to the incumbent in a rather suspicious manner.

“I did not return my nomination forms as expected because of the frustration in satisfying the nomination requirements needed,” Kasule said before adding that the “whole process is sham.”

He also said that the whole nomination process was meant to frustrate any potential candidates. “It was set up to protect the incumbent, it was set up to ensure that he went through unopposed.”

He says that Magogo and his executive have manipulated the constitution and regulations that should govern the game to favour him.

“The nomination process should never be meant to lock people out. It must give an opportunity to football people to choose the best candidate,” he said.

He intends to take on the matter through the available football channels.

This is the second time Mujib Kasule fails to make it to the ballot in almost similar ways and it is almost a given that Moses Magogo will appear unopposed on the ballot come 21st August when the elections are set to take place.

Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana who is also the Director of Kampala Regional League side, Katwe United picked forms on Tuesday but is yet to return them after complaining about the limited time he was given to mobilise for his seconders.
