Kasule Lumumba and Museveni staff return positive tests for Coronavirus

National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba and an unidentified number of individuals attached to president Museveni have tested positive for COVID-19 Let Out News has learned.

According to sources close to the Ministry of Health and State House, NRM Secretary Gen. Kasule Lumumba has been enduring in self isolation until a few days ago when she decided to go for testing, where results turned out positive.

According to the findings, Lumumba is reportedly asymptomatic and it was very important that she tested.

The sources also revealed that a number of NRM officials including those attached to 2021 Presidential elections candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have tested positive.

It is also reported that most of the cases recorded may be asymptomatic as many refuse to isolate in the aim of keeping up with Museveni’s campaigns.

A source intimated; “There is a member of the secretariate who tested positive, returned to Kampala and rested for a few days and then went back without completing the number of days for isolation.”

“There are many such cases not only in NRM but all over, people are not heeding to the rules of isolation once they notice they are not badly off,” the source added.

It is believed that about 4 to 5 members of the president’s staff also tested positive.

“The president has been very serious with this, we have about 4-5 members of his staff that have since been checked into different facilities on his orders, he should at least be looked at as an example,” the source asserted.

The source also intimated to Let Out News that at least 6 footballers attached to a soccer club in Entebbe have also tested positive for COVID-19.

The source claimed that these members of the club were found positive after they did a mandatory test to travel for a soccer game outside Uganda.

It should be noted that six players from Vipers Sports Club, who were meant to travel to Sudan for the second leg tie of the CAF Champions League against Al Hilal tested positive for COVID-19 and were stopped along the way.
