National Unity Platform wants to vet Kampala Lord Mayor aspirants again

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has announced as vacant, the position of the Lord Mayor of Kampala City flag bearer after Latif Ssebaggala decided to step down in favor of FDC’s Erias Lukwago.

In a press release from the NUP Electoral Management Committee (EMC) Chairperson Mercy Walukamba, the party is set to vet Kampala Lord Mayor Flagbearers once again and has called for interested aspirants to register.

“Following the stepping down of our esteemed flag bearer for the position of Lord Mayor Kampala Capital City, this slot is now vacant.

Interested persons are therefore hereby requested to fill-in and return their expression of interest forms to the party headquarters by Friday 25th September, 2020 at 5:00pm,” a statement in the Press release reads.

Ssebaggala had seen off competition from among others, musician Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Chameleone, in a highly contested battle.

The interested candidates, according to Walukamba will have to be Ugandans above 18 years of age, with a National ID, UCE, and UACE qualifications and registered members of the National Unity Platform.
