UG Ambassador Exposes Exiled Novelist Kakwenza Rukira in Fresh Extortion Scandal

According to well-informed sources, life appears to be quite challenging for Ugandan novelist and author Kakwenza Rukira. Adonia Ayebare, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations, has called out the self-exiled Ugandan novelist Kakwenza Rukira. Adonia took to his X page to reveal that Kakwenza was attempting to extort him once again.

He was utilizing not only Twitter but also various other social media platforms. The Ambassador even shared screenshots from WhatsApp to substantiate his claims, asserting that Kakwenza is both ill and corrupt.

In these screenshots, Kakwenza, who left the country a few years ago after alleging torture by CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, can purportedly be seen soliciting funds from Adonia, who responds by stating he is occupied with official responsibilities. Kakwenza tries to appeal to him for some financial help, but Adonia keeps deflecting his requests.

“I am told extortionist Kakwenza is at it again. Ignore the forgeries he is circulating on his twitter handle and other social media groups. Here is evidence of him
Demanding money from me.
The guy is sick and corrupt ,” the Ambassador tweeted

This isn’t the first occasion that Kakweza has faced accusations of attempting to extort government officials since his self-imposed exile. He has managed to evade repercussions at times, but he has also been exposed multiple times, although he consistently refutes the allegations.

Moreover, the self-proclaimed human rights activist has been entangled in several controversies, particularly regarding his personal life. Fellow activist and exiled former Makerere University professor, Dr. Stella Nyanzi, accused him of abandoning his child’s mother and children in favor of relationships with European women.
