The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces the UPDF, Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has placed a new rank on his son, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Muhoozi was promoted to the rank of General.
He was however dropped from being the Commander of the Land Forces.
The first son was however retained as the Presidential Advisor for Special Operations.
Another change effected by Museveni saw Maj Gen Muhanga Kayanja promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Subsequently, he was appointed the new Commander of the Land Forces.
Together with Muhoozi, Kayanja has been manning Operation Shujaa in the DRC targeting the ADF rebels.
Muhoozi quickly took to his Twitter timeline to tell how he and supporters are going to have a celebration alongside Kampala road for this rank.
He then proceeded to thank his father for giving him this new role.
However, a lot of people have seen this as a mover towards the Muhoozi project.
Through his numerous tweets, Muhoozi said that come 2026, a revolution is set to take place in the country.
The old government led by his father will have to step down and allow him and other young people to take control of the country.
