Uganda Revenue Authority reveals what it will do for Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo after momentous wins

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) which is responsible for taxing everything taxable in the country has revealed the plans towards Uganda long distance runners Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo.

This is after duo clinched two medals in the ongoing world athletics championship. Cheptegei won gold whereas Kiplimo won a bronze medal.

According to URA, one of their clauses exempts a sportsman from being taxed on the award they have won in a sports competition.

Furthermore, URA revealed that this is meant to encourage the country to produce more sports personalities. Therefore Cheptegei and Kiplimo will be smiling all the way to the bank.

This was after one user tweeted saying that the tax body was now salivating on taxing Cheptegei’s and Kiplimo’s hard earned dimes.

Meanwhile a number of people have already come out to congratulate the duo for the great achievement. Among these included the president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Museveni congratulated the duo for making the country proud adding that their hardwork is well appreciated. The president also thanked Stephen Kissa of the great teamwork.
