Manchester City maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry City on Saturday, while Crystal Palace recorded their first league win of the campaign with a 3-2 comeback victory against Fulham.
Liverpool also continued their winning start on Friday, defeating Ipswich Town 2-0.
The results came as the third round of Premier League fixtures was completed, with two high-profile matches scheduled for Sunday.
Saturday results
Liverpool began the weekend with a 2-0 away victory against Ipswich Town on Friday, before seven matches were played on Saturday.
Newcastle United drew 2-2 with Bournemouth, while Brentford and Sunderland shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
Brighton & Hove Albion also drew 1-1 with Leeds United.
At Craven Cottage, Crystal Palace came from behind twice to defeat Fulham 3-2, giving Palace their first league victory of the season. Fulham have now lost their opening three league matches under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
Manchester City defeated Coventry City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium, with Erling Haaland scoring the decisive goal. The victory gave City three wins from three matches.
Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur played out a goalless draw, while Hull City and Aston Villa also finished 0-0.
Sunday’s fixtures
Two matches are scheduled for Sunday, September 6.
Everton host Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium at 2:00pm UK time, followed by the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium at 4:30pm.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have started the campaign unbeaten, making the Emirates encounter one of the weekend’s headline fixtures.

At the other end of the table, the early weeks have proved difficult for several clubs, with Tottenham, Aston Villa, Coventry City and Fulham among the sides yet to register a league victory.
