Global payment technology firm Cross Switch has promoted co-founder Jacob Yermalitski to the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), strengthening the company’s leadership team as it accelerates expansion across emerging markets.
Yermalitski, who previously served as Director of Engineering, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s technology strategy since its inception. In his new role, he will oversee the firm’s technology vision and innovation roadmap, focusing on scaling its payment infrastructure and enhancing digital transaction capabilities across multiple regions.
He takes over the CTO role from Mike Kenrich, another co-founder of Cross Switch, who will now serve as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Kenrich played a central role in establishing the company’s technological foundation, building its engineering teams, and developing the leadership structure that has guided its growth.
As CTO, Yermalitski will lead efforts to strengthen Cross Switch’s scalable, API-driven payment orchestration platform. The system enables merchants, payment providers, and service partners to connect seamlessly with banks, mobile wallets, and local payment systems across Africa, Latin America, and other high-growth markets.
Tim Davis, Group CEO of Cross Switch, said Yermalitski’s appointment reflects his long-standing contribution to the company’s growth.
“Jacob has been central to Cross Switch’s journey from day one,” Davis said. “His technical leadership, deep understanding of payments infrastructure, and commitment to building resilient, scalable technology make him the natural choice for CTO. As we expand across emerging markets, his vision will be key to delivering secure, seamless payment solutions for our partners and customers.”
Yermalitski brings extensive experience in software engineering leadership, quality assurance, and fintech infrastructure. Before co-founding Cross Switch, he held senior roles in software quality assurance and quality engineering management, building expertise in system reliability, performance optimisation, and scalable product development.
Commenting on his new role, Yermalitski said he remains focused on strengthening the company’s technology and expanding its impact in emerging markets.
“Stepping into the CTO role is a key responsibility I take seriously,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud of what our team has achieved so far. Moving forward, my focus will be on strengthening our platform, scaling innovation across emerging markets, and continuing to deliver secure, reliable payment solutions that make a real difference for our partners and customers.”
Cross Switch continues to expand its mission of simplifying and securing digital payments through its CS+ Platform, which allows businesses to access multiple payment channels through a single integration. By combining deep regional expertise with robust fintech infrastructure, the company aims to help organisations move money more efficiently while supporting economic growth in some of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
