Prof George Kanyeihamba’s meme sign post pulled down by KCCA

The Kampala Capital City Authority has pulled down a signpost in Makindye which gave directions to the former chief Justice, Professor George Kanyeibamba’s home.

Social media was full of jokes and memes after this peculiar sign post showed up.

This showed all Kanyeihamba’s academic honors.

As jokes started flying in about it, city famous lawyer Julius Galisonga joked that “When coming to my home, come to Makindye then you take Prof Dr. G.W, Kanyeihamba, LLB, BAL, LLM, Ph. D, LLD, SC road. The first black gate on the left is my home.”

More continued to throw in the jokes until KCCA landed on it.

The KCCA enforcement team had to pull it down.

According to Simon Peter Kasyate, the KCCA spokesperson, it was rather a sticker bearing Kanyeihamba’s credits glued on top of a signpost.

“We have a famous sign with us. Notice it’s a sticker over a gazette named road ‘Buziga Hill road’….in all KCCA is grateful for the vigilance of citizens. We wish the same can be applied to those who litter and or steal/vandalize installations,” Kasyate tweeted on Thursday, 13 October 2022.

Justice Kanyeihamba was elected Judge of the African Court in 2006 for a two-year term. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Warwick, UK. He is a Professor of Law and held various positions in Uganda.
