Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool has officially launched the Tanzanian leg of his Break The Chains album media tour. He arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam on Sunday night, receiving a warm welcome from local and international media.
This leg of the tour, running from July 7th to 12th, follows a successful debut in Nairobi, where Bebe Cool engaged with multiple media houses and reconnected with the city that shaped the early years of his music career in the late 1990s.
At a press conference held at the Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Bebe Cool expressed excitement about bringing his music to Tanzania—a country he credited with helping elevate East African culture.
“The world is opening its doors to Africa. It’s time for East Africa to work together and push at least 30 artists globally. Even if 10 make it, the ripple effect will benefit the region,” he stated.

Bebe Cool’s 16-track album, Break The Chains, represents his vision of artistic freedom. The album blends trending African genres like Afrobeats, Afropop, Afrotech, and Afro-house, while showcasing his signature vocals and heartfelt storytelling.
The album features international collaborations, including Yemi Alade (Nigeria) on African Love, DJ Edu (UK/Kenya), and Uganda’s rising star Joshua Baraka on Cheque. With tracks like Circumference and Motivation already gaining traction, the album is building a dedicated following.

Although Bebe Cool benefited from Tanzania’s influential Channel 5/East African TV in the early 2000s, this marks his first extensive campaign in the country. The press event was co-hosted by Tanzanian media personality Lil Ommy and managed by Kenyan publicist Anyiko Owoko.
Bebe Cool has revealed plans to continue the tour in Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, and Europe, as he continues to spread his message and sound across borders.
Break The Chains is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
