- Sparks FC vs BUL FC (FUFA TV)
- Ntinda Utd vs Ndejje University
Match Day 2 of the 2022/23 season of the Stanbic Uganda Cup sees defending champions BUL FC commence their title defense against Buganda Region side Sparks SC.
Jinja-based BUL FC travel a short distance to Mukono for the 4pm encounter with Sparks at Kirondo Play Ground and the former’s head coach Alex Isabirye has vowed that they will try and defend their crown.
“Although it is always hard to defend the title with one team, I will try with the help of God to do it with BUL,” Isabirye said after the Round of 64 draws for the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
“I believe we can win it for the second consecutive time but I do not think the draw with Sparks is an easy one.”
“Every team that participates in the Stanbic Uganda Cup can win it, and BUL has ever failed to progress from the Round of 64 at the hands of Seeta United FC five years ago, a team also from Mukono, so we shall need to be careful.”
“We know little about the Sparks but we shall try to research and know what they can do and what they can not do.”
“Qualifying to the next round is our prime target in this tie and this will need us to do all that is possible to achieve that,” Isabirye added.
Isabirye’s charges finished the first round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League positioned second on the 15-team log and they will be hoping to carry that form into the Stanbic Uganda Cup tomorrow on Monday.
As Sparks entertains BUL in Mukono, Ndejje University FC who are currently 12th in the 16-team FUFA Big League log will also be visiting Kampala Region side Ntinda United FC at Kampala Quality Primary School Play Ground at 4pm.
