Don’t allow Museveni to tamper with your constitution- Bobi Wine to Kenyans

Musician and politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has advised Kenyans not to allow Ugandan President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to mess around with their constitution.

This is after a Kenyan MP known as Saleh Yakub of Fafi Constituency proposed the removal of the term limits from the Kenyan constitution.

According to Saleh, emphasis should rather be put on age where a leader is not allowed to go beyond 75 years.

However, if a leader has been good, he should be let to rule for more than 2 terms until he clocks 75 years.

This saw an outburst of different opinions in both Kenya and the neighboring countries.

Bobi Wine who is the leader of the National Unity Platform rallied Kenyans to be sensitive on issues to do with their constitution.

He said that this is how such things usually start with lone MPs proposing such weird proposals and they end up being adopted by the majority as he cited the case of Uganda where Museveni spearheaded the removal of term limits and the age clause from the constitution.

“Dear Kenyans, BE VIGILANT. Save your country from Musevenism. This may come off as a lone MP making a ridiculous suggestion, but this is how it starts. Exactly how Museveni began schemes to remove TERM and AGE limits. Defend your Constitution before it’s too weak to defend you!,” said Bobi Wine.

The 2021 presidential runner up seemed to insinuate that this move is being propagated by President Museveni.

If this is effected, it would enable the current Kenyan President H.E William Ruto to run for more than 20 years in office as he’s still in his early 50s.

Besides William Ruto is a close ally of President Museveni as the Ugandan long serving President endorsed Ruto for the previous elections in Kenya in which he floored Raila Odinga.
