You deserve it- Ugandans react to news of Police officer who died after caning elderly woman

Ugandans have taken to Twitter to react to news about a Police officer who died after caning an elderly woman.

In a video posted by Bahati Remmy a US based Ugandan journalist, this officer was seen beating an elderly woman for fun.

This is as he was patrolling with fellow officers.

He flogged her as he called her wicked and none of his comrades tried to restrain him.

The video garnered widespread criticism of this officer as his impunity got called out.

Many have been calling upon the IGP Martin Okoth Ochola to arrest him.

However, in a shocking development, ex NBS TV journalist Daniel Lutaaya revealed the identity of this officer.

Lutaaya said that he’s known as Sam Okiror aged 65 years.

He however shortly died after beating from hypertension.

Many Ugandans have since then come out to appreciate nature for this calling as this officer didn’t respect his elder and mother.

“God forgive me for saying this, but I think he deserved it. Naye nze nenkusanga ku maama wange??? Otegela nti ndimu omusayi gwabakyiga.”

“I wish God could pay all the perpetrators of these serious human rights violations in the same currency and instantly.”

“Some deaths are not regrettable.”

Many Police officers have in the recent past portrayed high levels of impunity.

In fact they always go an extra mile to terrorise the same people they are supposed to protect for no reason.
