Uganda defender Gavin Kizito set for international debut

Ugandan football defender Gavin Kizito looks likes he’s finally landed himself a stint to international football.

The youngster is set to join Egyptian side Alitihad Alexandria according to the news from the club.

A social media post by the club welcomed the player hinting that the deal has already been finalized.

He’s been plying his trade with 16 time Uganda Premier League champions SC villa for the past 3 years.

The defender however couldn’t however agree a new deal with the Jogoos as the contract negotiations fell apart.

Kizito rose through the ranks via the FUFA Junior league. He went ahead to captain Uganda at the U17 and U20 AFCON championships in 2017 and 2020 respectively.

He however won’t be the first player to play at the Egyptian club.

Uganda’s current captain and vice captain Emmanuel Okwi and Khalid Aucho respectively have all played at the club.

Kizito is expected to soon sign a contract with the club and we shall keep you updated.
