FUFA refuses to overturn Kyetume’s demotion from the Uganda Premier League

FUFA has maintained that Kyetume FC will play the 2022-2023 season in the third Division Buganda Regional League.

This is after their appeal against being demoted from the League was rejected by FUFA.

It should be recalled that Kyetume was temporarily kicked out of the league for failure to register a single player on the FUFA connect system by the deadline 10th August 2022 set for all the clubs in the Uganda Premier League.

FUFA proceeded to give the club up to 22nd August 2022 to appeal against this ruling and they did.

However, FUFA revealed that the earlier decision would be upheld.

Kyetume therefore has to go ahead and meet the requirements for the Buganda Regional League because the decision worn change.

“The decision of the Club Licensing Committee is therefore upheld.

FUFA wishes to advise that Kyetume FC undertakes to fulfill rhe Club Licensing requirements for the third Division Buganda Region season 2022/2023.

It is our sincere hope that the club will understand the sporting intentions of this decision,” partly read FUFA’s statement.

Kyetume is yet to issue a statement on their upheld ban. Its waited to see if they will further appeal against it.
