Chaos in Soroti by election as FDC candidate Moses Attan allegedly poisoned

Today 28th July is the D-day that the Electoral Commission designated for the Soroti East By-election. Campaigns ended yesterday and voters are already thronging polling stations to cast their votes.

However, there was panic yesterday as the FDC flagbearer Moses Attan alleged that he had been poisoned. Attan revealed that he was poisoned using a local poison.

Its the reason he left the last rally very early. He then had a rough night vomiting and having diarrhea. He had to be rushed to a local clinic where he was managed from.

Attan had then to be moved to a private facility to avoid further damage by ‘their enemies.’ He added that he’s now getting better.

Further, Attan said that there opponents have gotten so desperate to such a point of wanting to take his life. He however assured his supporters that he’s going to fight all the way and make sure that they reclaim their victory.

However some people have taken this for a stunt to seek public sympathy. This is because the FDC has severally been accused of acting such stunts to court the public for votes.

Meanwhile the situation is already tense in the area. A number of Opposition figures such as FDC party president Patrick Amuriat Oboi among others have been arrested by the security forces.

These were allegedly arrested in the home of Soroti woman MP Hon Ann Adeke.

The tension is still building up and this election is expected to be a fierce one. We shall keep you updated with all the news as it unfolds.
