A video has been making rounds on social media showing how a truck gruesomely ran over two people were traveling on a boda.
This accident happened along the northern bypass roundabout in Bwaise an outskirt of Kampala city.
In this video, a boda boda is seen overtaking the truck and somewhere in front of the truck, the boda boda cyclist amd passenger fall down and the truck runs over them.
Although Police is yet to confirm the fatalities, it doesn’t look like there is a survivor between the victims. The said accident happened on the 31st of May 2022 at 3 minutes past 7.
Social media users have been quick to judge on who was in the wrong.
“So sorry for the loss of lives, but also the truck driver had really no option. Drive carefully/patience in the junction crossing.”
“very very sad for loss of life, however ALL TRUCKS have blind spots especially in front, it is never advised to just suddenly cross or walk infront, they dont see u!!!!…may they rest in peace.”
“Have you noticed that the truck driver put in the wrong indicator? His indicator showed that he was going to Wandegeya, but instead he turned to Namungoona/ Bwaise.”
“This was a blind spot for the driver. Neither of his side mirrors told him that there was a cyclist. Unfortunately some drivers prefer to kill than treat injuries. He should have stopped after realising he knocked something.”
