After 2 consecutive seasons of COVID 19 interruptions, 2021/2022 season ended smoothly. Lira based Blacks Power Football club emerged the champion amidst stiff competition from Maroons FC and Kyetume and Mbale based Kataka FC.
Blacks Power Football club becomes the second team from Lira to play in the Uganda Premier League after Boroboro Tigers that last appeared in the top tier in 2009/2010 season.
Blacks Power beat Luwero United 2-1 to claim the top spot at the end of the season with 39 points and gained promotion alongside Maroons FC who beat Nyamityobora 5-0 away in Mbarara in second place and Kyetume FC who defeated Kataka in Mbale amidst the darkest side football has ever witnessed live on TV.
On the other end of the table, Proline FC were relegated alongside MYDA and Nyamityobora into the third tier of Ugandan football – the Regional level.
