Former Kawempe South MP Hon Mubarak Munyagwa has come out to reveal that he was once poisoned while still serving as the chairman of COSASE in Parliament.
During a TV talkshow, the former MP said that he was poisoned using the lethal nerve agent which paralyzed his nerves and senses.
He stated that he went to see one of the most qualified doctors in diagnosing poison when he started feeling unwell.
This doctor an Iranian national told him that he had actually been poisoned using nerve agent poison.
He then informed the then Deputy speaker of Parliament Hon Jacob Oulanyah about the matter who referred him to the the then speaker Hon Alitwala Rebecca Kadaga.
Kadaga advised Munyagwa to forward the matter to the national medical council to approve his travel for further treatment outside the country but he was surprised that they never bothered to offer any help.
After realizing that he wasn’t going to get any help, Munyagwa says that he used his personal savings which amounted to about 500 million shillings to get the best medical treatment overseas.
He therefore said that he cannot rule out the fact that the late Hon Jacob Oulanyah was poisoned because it is something that has ever happened to him at Parliament.
However, he said that up to now, he doesn’t know who was behing his poisoning but already forgave them even though he has never found out who it was.
