Museveni to address Ugandans on Covid

President Yoweri Museveni will address the nation on COVID-19 and other matters of national interest including whether the night-time curfew shall be lifted or not today, 16 April 2021 and will be broadcasted live on all TV and Radio stations across the country.

He is expected to address the government’s position on the 9 pm curfew, which according to PM Ruhakana Rugunda, only he can decide on the matter.

Rugunda told Parliament in a statement on Tuesday that government is aware of all concerns from legislators and Muslim leaders around the country about the 9 pm curfew time, and that the president would address it in his address.

The President’s address is expected to be broadcasted live from the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi where he is meeting newly elected NRM MPs.

A few days ago, the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga summoned Dr Ruhakana Rugunda to explain the Government’s position on the time curfew on the floor of parliament, to which he responded in writing, explaining that the government is aware of the concerns.
