Former World boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced on his Instagram page Sunday that he will be fighting internet personality, Logan Paul, on Feb. 20, 2021, in a “super exhibition”.
Mayweather who is considered as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of all-time last fought in 2017, scoring a technical knockout of mixed martial artist Connor McGregor in 10 rounds. Mayweather retired with a career record of 50-0 with 27 knockouts.
Paul has competed in one professional fight, a 2019 loss to British internet personality KSI. Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson by knockout on Nov. 28.

Greg Rosenstein, boxing managing editor: Paul is a social media personality who boasts 22.2 million subscribers on YouTube, 18.6 million on Instagram, and 5.8 million on Twitter. The 25-year-old has an athletic background as an all-state performer in both wrestling and football at Westlake High in Ohio. He has two boxing fights under his belt, both against fellow YouTuber KSI. The first, an exhibition in August 2018, ended in a majority draw. He lost his first professional bout by a split decision in November 2019.
What are his chances in the bout?
Rosenstein: If this was a legitimate fight, zero. Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters in history and Paul is … someone who makes YouTube videos and started boxing less than two years ago. Mayweather would cruise to a dominant victory if he just showed up on fight day with no training. That said, this is a “special exhibition” so I’m going to assume — like he did against Conor McGregor in 2017 — he’ll give his opponent a chance to land a few shots and look good for his fans.
