Zuena Kirema, the wife of renowned singer Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has spoken out against Ugandans who perceive everything as a competition, even when it doesn’t have to be. In a post on her X page, Zuena pointed out the irony of foreigners viewing Ugandans as incredibly warm and welcoming people.
Yet, she noted, this does not seem to apply to how Ugandans treat one another. She indicated that any action by a Ugandan is subject to criticism from fellow Ugandans, attributing this behavior to jealousy.
As a mother of five, she questioned who gave Ugandans the impression that online posts are always about rivalry. She further expressed that this kind of nonsense should cease, particularly the comparisons made between young children. Zuena emphasized that Ugandans need to avoid creating unnecessary drama.
This discussion was sparked by images of her daughter, Beata Ssali, alongside Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi’s daughter, Shalom Namagembe. Recently, Barbie shared pictures of her daughter looking elegant and charming at her prom party. Almost immediately, social media users began comparing her with Beata regarding their looks.
The situation soon took a political twist, transforming an innocent comparison into attacks directed at both young girls. However, Zuena clarified that the two girls share a friendship and urged netizens to stop this childish behavior. She advised them to disregard the negative attention and remain focused on their aspirations.
It’s well known that Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine have historically not seen eye to eye. This discord has persisted for years but intensified further after the Firebase leader embraced a political career.
Whenever fans from either side find an opportunity to compare or insult each other or the two artists, they capitalize on it. This pattern of comparison has not only affected Beata and Shalom but has also seen Zuena pit against Barbie and Alpha Ssali against Kampala Solomon.
Recently, Bebe Cool stated that he holds no animosity towards Bobi Wine’s family, particularly the children. He mentioned that when they cross paths, they always manage to enjoy pleasant interactions. Thus, the conflict primarily lies between him and the Kiwani artist.
