A senior officer in the UPDF has burned his wife beyond recognition, according to information accessed by this website. The incident reportedly took place in Mitooma district in western Uganda.
The yet-to-be-identified officer is said to have had several misunderstandings with his wife, a situation that is believed to have prompted him to do the despicable act.
According to locals, this wasn’t the first time the pair was having domestic wrangles at home. The officer is said to have constantly beaten up his wife.
On some occasions, the officer threatened to harm her with death, and despite interventions to try and calm the situation, all those that tried always failed.
This officer is said to have returned drunk on the D-day before tying up his wife whom he burnt to ashes.
He’s said to currently be on the run in order to escape justice.
The National Armed Forces, the UPDF are yet to issue a statement in regards to this matter.
However, this continues to plummet the Force’s public image which is already damaged due to the impunity exhibited by some officers.
Several attempts to cleanse this image have always dealt a huge blow by such reckless officers.
