Byanyima pays tribute to Gen Elly Tumwine, She didn’t doubt his intentions

Winnie Byanyima wife to vicious opposition figure Dr Kiiza Besigye has come out to express her sympathies towards the family of the late Gen Elly Tumwine .

Byanyima said that she salutes Gen Elly Tumwine for the sacrifices he made to liberate the country from the Obote 2 illegitimate and repressive regime.

She further said that he was a loyal cadre of the NRM who often gave a blind eye to the injustices of his party.

Byanyima also said that she disagreed with Tumwine many times but never she did doubt his intentions.

She then went ahead to send her condolences to the late’s family adding that she applauds him for contributing to the struggle of democracy in the country a fight that is still on going.

Additionally Byanyuma revealed how Gen Tunwine called her personally and apologized for trying to rig her victory as MP for Mbarara Municipality in 2001.

Being loyal to the NRM saw his trust somewhat misused by the NRM according to the UNAIDS executive director.
