Video: Joshua Cheptegei puts up electric performance to clinch gold medal at World Athletics Championship

The Ugandan GOAT of long distance running Joshua Cheptegei left Ugandans and the entire world in a fantasy zone after putting up a great performance in the ongoing world athletics championship in Oregon, USA.

The 10,000m record holder posted a time of 27:27:43 to clinch gold. Kenyan Stanley Mburu came in the second position to claim a silver medal while another Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo came in third winning the bronze medal. Kiplimo ran a time of 27:27:93 which is his seasonal best.

Cheptegei who won gold at the just concluded Tokyo Olympics proved why he’s the best at managing the track field when it came to the last lap.

The runner put up a powerful performance and nobody could really catch him. Coming into this race, he was under pressure to defend his crown especially from Ethiopia’s Solomon Barega but he managed to beat off the competition.

Although he won gold, it wasn’t possible for him to beat his world record in the competition of 26:11:00 that he recorded in Valencia in 2020.
