NRM endorses late Jacob Oulanyah’s son as sole candidate for by election

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has endorsed Andrew Ojok Oulanyah the son to the late speaker of Parliament Hon Jacob Oulanyah as the flag bearer for the party in the by election for Omoro County.

The decision was arrived at after a meeting of leaders from Omoro with President Museveni in Rwakitura.

All those who had shown interest in the position on behalf of the NRM agreed to step down and let Andrew Ojok take over his father’s mantle.

Its also said that NUP is planning to back FDC who are the likely opposition party to front a candidate.

The by-election is set to take place on the 26th of May 2022.

For now, in OMORO County by – Elections, @NRMOnline will not hold any primary election. @WodLanywen will be sole a candidate for NRM in the Race. @FDCOfficial1 might front a candidate, @NUP_Ug wants to back FDC candidate.
