Singers Eddy Kenzo and Sheeba Karungi alongside Video producer Sasha Vybz have been nominated for the 2020 African Music Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) which are slated for November 15, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.
This year’s Awards which are under the theme “Destination Africa” have seen many Ugandan artistes nominated who include; Vinka (nominated in the same category as Sheebah Karungi), and the Masaka Kids Africana who were also nominated in the dance category.
A defunct Keko has also been nominated for Best Female Rap Act while Sasha Vybz was nominated for Best Video Director while James Onen aka ‘FatBoy’, former Radio Presenter at Sanyu FCM is in the list for Radio/TV personality of the year.
Many Ugandan artistes have previously won AFRIMMA awards before including Cindy Sanyu who won the award for Best Female artist East Africa in 2016, Eddy Kenzo who scooped the award for Best African collaboration for the Mbilo Mbilo remix and best male artist East Africa 2018, Sheebah Karungi also won an award for best female artist 2018, and Ykee Benda who was crowned as the best New comer in 2018.
