Mathias Walukagga and Daudi Kabanda have traded sharp remarks on social media, with their disagreement revolving around academic qualifications, political leadership and professional credentials.
The exchange began after Walukagga took aim at Kabanda’s education, warning against comparing their academic backgrounds.
“Check this meathead! Never compare my academic level with someone who never schooled @DaudiKabanda. The word is ‘Never’,” Walukagga wrote on X.
Kabanda responded with a laughing emoji and the Luganda remark, “Naye njogedwa nyo banange,” suggesting that he had become the subject of considerable discussion.
Walukagga later returned to the exchange, emphasising that he holds a university degree and challenging Kabanda to state his own qualifications.
“I have a University Degree, olinaki mukulu?” he wrote.
Kabanda responded by questioning why Walukagga had not become a Member of Parliament despite having a degree.
“Kiki ekyakulemesa okufuuka MP ate nga oyina digiri sorry degree,” Kabanda posted.
Walukagga fired back, accusing Kabanda of being a sycophant and questioning his professional background.
“I refused to be a sycophant like you, yensonga lwaki. Otherwise for I have a profession, can I know yours?” he wrote.
The exchange attracted significant attention online, with Kabanda’s post recording more than 160,000 views at the time captured in the screenshot.
The disagreement has since drawn attention to the increasingly personal exchanges among public figures on social media, where discussions about education and political leadership can quickly turn into direct confrontations.
Neither post, on its own, establishes the full background to the disagreement, while the claims made about the two men’s academic and professional credentials remain unverified.
