Property wrangles erupt as paternity claims fall apart, exposing deceit and raising questions about legacy battles.
Fallen Kawempe North MP Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya was nearly left with no children after DNA tests were carried out on his nine alleged kids. Following Ssegirinya’s passing, reports emerged about how he had numerous children with different mothers.
This situation even sparked a property dispute, but DNA results have now confirmed that he only has four children out of the nine claimed. These consist of three daughters and one son: Aaliyah Nagirinya, Sharifah Nagirinya, Shifrah Nagirinya, and Ivan, who is the sole male heir of the deceased MP.

It was Ssegirinya’s personal assistant (PA) and unsuccessful Kawempe North MP candidate, Alex Luwemba Luswa, who disclosed this surprising information. In a media interview, he stated that he always believed it was just a matter of time before these women were exposed for their deceit.
“God is indeed great, and the results are finally here. They had consistently made claims, but I knew it was only a question of time. Their behavior was unethical. These women began fighting for his assets even before he was buried, which raised red flags,” he said.
The most shocking occurrence was when a woman from Matugga, identified only as Nalongo Joy, emerged claiming that her nine-month-old son was fathered by the MP. She alleged that they became intimate after his release from prison in 2023, but the DNA tests disproved the child’s paternity to Ssegirinya.

Meanwhile, Luwemba noted that the family lawyer, Hon Medard Lubega Ssegona, is currently working to ensure that these four children are granted a letter of administration, as the late MP left no will.
“Women can be unpredictable. Despite all this chaos, they often know the truth. It’s hard to fathom that a man who spent two years behind bars and was released in very poor health could manage to conceive a child. The timeline simply didn’t add up,” Luwemba remarked.
