President Museveni pays tribute to son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on 48th birthday

Like any loving parent, President Museveni took to his Twitter page to pay tribute to his son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba during his birthday over the weekend.

Muhoozi celebrated his 48th birthday on the 24th of April 2022 at State House Entebbe. The party was attended by a number of high profiled dignitaries including the Rwandan president Paul Kagame.

Taking to his Twitter page, Museveni appreciated Kagame for coming through for his son’s big day.

Museveni revealed that people call his son Muhoozi although he calls him Muwooji. The president added that he coined the name from the way the late Tito Okello Lutwa used to refer to him.

Museveni added that Tito Okello Lutwa didn’t know how to pronounce Muhoozi and always called Janet Museveni Mama Muwooji.

Museveni further said that although Tito wasn’t available now, he’s glad that his son Okello Oryem is available.

According to Museveni, Muhoozi was a gift to them because he came during their earlier days of the struggle.

Museveni revealed how at one time together with his wife and Muhoozi were nearly killed only to be rescued by Kagame and Gen Salim Saleh.

Furthermore, Museveni said that he doesn’t know what impact this scenario had on Muhoozi because he was a prisoner of war. He also thanked his wife for looking after their children.

Museveni proceeded to thank Kagame for honoring Muhoozi’s birthday invitation adding that the two have always been good friends from their olden days.

Museveni then advised parents to always listen to their children and guide them wherever they can accordingly. Suppressing them could be suppressing something good.
