The Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja was forced to call into the NBS studios during the Frontline program to clarify on a false tweet that was making rounds on social media.
This tweet had a quote from New Vision that alleged Nabbanja told people to use paw paw leaves instead of soap which they claim is so expensive.
She further says that there is nothing the government can do in regards to the escalating prices of basic commodities such as soap.
The tweet saw the Prime Minister garner backlash from the public. This was very insensitive from the person who heads the government business wing.
She had to call in directly to the TV and address the situation. Nabbanja says that she has never uttered such words.
New Vision’s CEO Don Wanyama also came out to clarify on the tweet saying it was forged.
