NUP’s Justus Mugenyi wins Mbarara City Guild Presidency

National Unity Platform (NUP)’s Jastus Mugenyi was named the winner of the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) guild presidency election after beating rival Isaac Muyanja by more than 700 votes.

“Congratulations to the Guild president elect H.E Jastus Mugenyi Kizito. The University looks forward to your dedicated service. Succeed we must,” declared the University returning officer.

Mugenyi convincingly beat all his four competitors including Isaac Muyanja (731), Witness Beda (268) and Mugambe Victor who came fourth (238) to victory after garnering a total of 1,767 votes.

Earlier, NUP president, Robert Kyagulanyi took to his social media platforms to congratute Mugenyi upon the landslide victory.
