Jinja district Covid-19 Task Force is worried about the increasing number of COVID19 positive cases. The district recorded 100 positive cases on Tuesday – the highest in a single day.
This has prompted the district task force to take tough measures including blocking all the people from accessing the city Centre as a deterrent measure to prevent the spread of the infectious disease.
Authorities in Jinja have expressed worry over the increasing numbers of the sick in the district.
According to the district COVID19 surveillance and focal person Richard Luvaluka, on Wednesday they recorded 100 new cases – the highest in a single day. Among the new positive cases are 24 health workers.
The last two days, the district has also recorded six deaths including two who were on home based care.
