When Apple announced its new iPhone, the 12s, the company brought back the MagSafe brand with some new magnet-based charging accessories. One of those accessories is the MagSafe Duo that will both charge an iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time, which we guess is the company’s alternative to its failed AirPower attempt.
If you relish the idea of being able to simultaneously charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the MagSafe Duo is now available for purchase. However, we should note that the MagSafe Duo is not exactly cheap as far as accessories are concerned.
Apple had previously revealed the pricing of the accessory at $130, which is actually rather insane for a charging accessory. Sure, there are similarly-expensive charging accessories out there, but the MagSafe Duo doesn’t exactly scream luxury or premium, so apart from the convenience, it does seem like a rather difficult purchase to justify.
Also, do take note that you will also need to buy the 20W power adapter from Apple that will cost an extra $19 on top of that, meaning that the entire setup will cost you $150. That being said, we understand that there might be some who can appreciate the convenience, but if you can’t justify the premium, maybe you should wait for some cheaper third-party alternatives.
