Shock in Njeru as Body of Young Woman Found in Government Official’s Compound, Suspects Admit to Ritual Killing

Residents of Bukaya, located in Njeru Division, Buikwe District, are still reeling in shock after police recovered the decomposing body of a young woman from the compound of a senior government official.

The body was identified as that of Jesca Mutesi, a 26-year-old woman from Masese, Jinja City, who had been reported missing last month. The gruesome discovery was made this week after two suspects, now in police custody, confessed to luring and killing her.

According to police sources, the suspects claimed they acted under the orders of Amina Mutesi, the Principal Inspector of Schools in Jinja. Investigators are now exploring the possibility that the murder was a ritual sacrifice, allegedly carried out to help Amina Mutesi secure a promotion within the Ministry of Education.

Reports indicate that Jesca was lured under false pretenses and killed in what appears to have been a premeditated act. Her body was then hidden in the compound of the senior official.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with locals calling for swift justice. Many are also questioning how such alleged acts of ritual sacrifice can still occur in modern Uganda, especially involving public servants.

Police investigations are ongoing, and further arrests may follow. Meanwhile, the community of Bukaya remains in mourning, struggling to come to terms with the disturbing details surrounding Jesca’s death
