Kampala is gearing up for a major musical event this Thursday, May 29th, as legendary Ugandan artist Bebe Cool unveils his much-awaited album, Break The Chains, at Noni Vie. Adding even more excitement to the event is the confirmed attendance of Nigerian-born, UK-based media personality Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo or the Energy Gawd.
Adesope, a highly respected figure in African media and entertainment, is the brain behind The Afrobeats Podcast, a platform that has championed Afrobeat music and culture globally. His arrival in Uganda marks a significant moment for cross-cultural collaboration between Nigerian and Ugandan music scenes.
Having worked with giants like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, and Uganda’s own Joshua Baraka, Adesope’s presence signals international recognition for Bebe Cool’s evolving Afrobeat sound. The album’s already-released singles, Circumference and Motivation, hint at a bold, fresh direction for the artist.
A seasoned broadcaster since 2003, Adesope has long been a key player in promoting African music across the world. Dubbed the “Afrobeats CNN” by Wizkid, he continues to bridge continents through sound. His support of Break The Chains could shine a new global light on Ugandan music.
