MP David Kabanda mocks UNATU Secretary General over failed strike

The Member of Parliament for Kasambya County Hon David Kabanda has come out to mock the UNATU Secretary General Filbert Baguma over a failed a sit down strike. Teachers yesterday who had vowed not to go back to class unless their demands are answered resolved to suspend the strike after meeting with President Museveni.

This was despite the president saying that their salaries won’t be increased for now but in future. According to Kabanda, Baguma wanted to use UNATU as a vehicle to Parliament.

This is just like other leaders of labour unions who have done the same and ended up in Parliament. He cited the example of Dr Ebuku Ekwaro who wanted to use the medical practitioners union for political gains and failed miserably. The MP termed this as selfish schemes.

Meanwhile, Filbert Baguma said that they didn’t entirely lose from this demonstration. They gained something which was in form of government mad public attention.

The Government even promised to sort out their grievances going forward.
