Celebrated news anchor Frank Walusimbi calls time on his NTV career

Celebrated news anchor Frank Walusimbi has called time on his career at the Nation Media affiliated TV station, NTV.

Walusimbi aired his last news bulletin at the Serena Hotel based TV station yesterday Thursday 28th 2022.

The calm and well polished Luganda news anchor dubbed NTV Akawungeezi has been and is one of the most respected people in his line of work.

Walusimbi had spent over 15 years with NTV after having joined the station in 2006.

“Frank Walusimbi anchored his final #NTVAkawungeezi bulletin right now. He has served the station for over 15 years and we consider that his work with us, together with exhibits like #Tuwaye and #EbigamboTebitta have positively impacted many,” NTV tweeted on Thursday.

Born in Kasese in 1981, Walusimbi posseses a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in MassCommunication from Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

A number of people from high ranking politicians to fellow news anchors paid their tributes to the outgoing news reader.

Makerere University vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe rallied upon all students that have been looking up to the news anchor to emulate his legacy.

NUP leader Bobi Wine also appreciated Walusimbi for the job well done and professionalism exhibited during his tenure at the helm of TV news.

Other journalists that paid tribute to Frank Walusimbi include the likes of Samson Kasumba, Canary Mugume, Sudhir Byaruhanga among others.
