NUP fronts former FDC member for Omoro County Parliamentary by-election

The National Unity Platform has fronted Tolit Akecha Samson a former member of the FDC for the Omoro County Parliamentary by election.

The position fell vacant after the death of the then speaker Hon Jacob Oulanyah who was buried a few weeks ago after passing away last month.

The party on the 26th of April held a vetting process for the 5 candidates who expressed interest in going for the seat. And thse included the likes of
Ramto Flavia,Kizza Oscar,Ochola Charles, Simon Toolit Akecha,&Secondo Okoth Abok.

The Party’s executive was left to make the final decision on who to front as their major candidate and it was none other than Akecha.

There had been rumors that NUP wouldn’t front a candidate in the election and would rather throw its weight behind an FDC endorsed candidate.

Meanwhile NRM’s candidate Andrew Ojok Oulanyah son to the late Jacob Oulanyah seems the favorite to win the election because of his father’s legacy.

The election is set to be held on the 26th of May 2022.
