Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party Presidential Flag-bearer, Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) has been rushed to hospital after being pepper sprayed by the Police on his way into Tororo where he was to hold his rallies today.
Amuriat was involved in a confrontation with the police who were preventing him from proceeding to Tororo district for his campaigns, but it is believed that he was instead forcing his way, a decision interpreted as defying the standing orders from the law enforcers.
A few days ago, the Electoral Commission released a list of high-risk areas for the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and Tororo District was among the ten earmarked as no go zones for political rallies.
However, FDC’s POA vowed to defy the directive just like his counterpart, NUP’s Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi. Today he insisted he would proceed to Tororo.
In the midst of the confrontation with Police, AMuriat was Pepper Sprayed directly in the face which caused serious irritations in his eyes and consequently forced to seek for medical attention.
We await more developments…
