Mirinda Uganda Joins Global “Longest Smile Chain” Campaign, Targets 100,000 Smiles

Mirinda Uganda has joined a global initiative dubbed “Building the Longest Smile Chain,” rallying Ugandans to take part in a nationwide campaign aimed at generating 100,000 smiles.

The initiative forms part of the broader Mirinda Smiles platform, which launched in Uganda in November 2025. The campaign is built on a simple idea: while everyday life may bring stress, pressure, and constant digital engagement, the ability to smile remains innate—waiting to be sparked.

Mirinda’s message is straightforward: take a sip, smile, and pass it on.

Participation in the campaign is open to the public. Consumers are encouraged to take a sip of Mirinda, share a smile with someone else, and post the moment on social media using the hashtags #SipMirinda and #SpreadSmile. Each shared moment contributes to a growing global digital chain connecting participants across different countries and communities.

Uganda’s target is to contribute at least 100,000 smiles to the international movement.

Speaking on the campaign, Mirinda Uganda Brand Manager Pearl Kitimbo said the initiative reflects the brand’s core identity.

“Mirinda has always been about boldness, colour, and fun, but at the heart of it all is something simple—a smile. Through the Longest Smile Chain, we are reminding people that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it only takes a small moment of connection,” she said.

Kitimbo added that Uganda’s participation in the campaign highlights the power of collective action in spreading positivity.

Mirinda is encouraging wide participation across different groups, including students, content creators, professionals, and families, to help amplify the campaign’s reach and impact.

The campaign underscores the idea that a single smile can create a ripple effect, extending far beyond one individual.

Ugandans can follow Mirinda Uganda’s social media platforms for updates and join the campaign by sharing their moments using the official hashtags.
